Now before I get started on what has been a long overdue report...I want to apologize. I could go on and on about how we are to busy, to tired and quite frankly beaten down to post reports ...and all the excuses are true...
I sit hear now, wondering where the last 5 weeks have gone. I filter through hundreds of photos and video and it's bringing it all back ...wow what a July...
I recently had the pleasure of the family for a few day's and then a long overdue overnighter with the little guy which was long overdue.
So many times this year I've thought about my Dad and it doesn't help with all the father's and son's this year. I remember what it was like and I miss it so everytime I get a chance to get Angela, Mackenzie and Nash on the boat with me, well you know, pretty special times.
We set out for what was to be a relaxing local trip to teach Nash the finer points of guiding, I mean you gotta start them early right.
Just like his Dad...it's all about the the shades...
Thanks Angela for a wonderful few day's...It make my summer having you guy's on the boat...
Next is what i can only say as probably the coolest moment I've had with my son yet...
I've been teaching him to set geat and work downriggers and that's no easy task for a 7 year old that's vertically challenged like his Dad....
He had set the hook on a few large fish earlier in the day but lost two beauties close and Dad had a net malfunction on the other....we need no talk about that one again...
It was the dying hours on the second day and I told him the next one was his no matter what and if the rod get's bit, grab it and set the hook, no worries Dad was his exact words.
Bang we get bit and the little bugger set's the hook and immediatly the fish runs, and I mean runs...
I get the riggers up and spin the boat around and it's pretty much a gong show from that moment on to say the least as the rules state I'm not allowed to touch the rod...
The poor kid was beat but as he pulled like hell one last time to turn the fishes head to the net....I was all over it..
31lb Tyee for his first chinook...I can't tell you how proud I felt...

The rest of the summer is what you would call...amazing...
I'd like to thank all that have come and all that are coming back for making this an unbelievable summer so far...
A special thanks goes out to dave for giving back mackenzies fighting belt...much appreciated...
I warn you this is photo heavy...
Doesn't look like anyone had a good time!!!!!
