Well a very interesting opporunity was presented to me late last week and I knew I would regret it if I didn't take it. Jake and I got invited to go have some fun up in Tofino (and I didn't have to tow my own boat)

.
We went fishing with a new friend who invited us out for some bottom fishing and salmon fishing. We drove up there in the man Tracker armed with just a big cooler, gum boots, lunch, and sun screen

.
We were supposed to meet up at 7:30 at the dock but had a rare problem. I was early!. We met up at 7:00 and off we went out into the fog. We headed offshore and were fishing within 40 minutes of leaving the dock.
Here are some shots of the trip.
Jake with a Halibut on.
Jake with one of a couple of Bucketheads we picked up.
Some Halibut and Lincod
We ran in a little closer to shore and switched up to the salmon gear and that's when the action really picked up. It was great fishing all day. We hooked into a couple of decent springs, a teener, a couple of nice hatchery coho as well. We probably released over a dozen coho, a few smaller springs, and a dog fish that took the plug.
Here's Jake concentrating on his biggest Spring to date.
I traded my graphic artist guy some metal work for some hoodies with our boat graphics on them. I think they came out good. Some Sculpin Swag.
Jakes 25 lber.
Brendan Morrison and crew were out there too.
Back at the dock
What a great day! When an good opportunity knocks my advice is take it as life is short. You'll regret it later. We will remember this day for quite some time. I'm real proud of my son as he is becoming quite a salty fisherman
