I would recommend fishing on Vancouver Island.
I am going to Tahsis on July 26th for 2 days and expect to get into large halibut and some medium sized Chinook and Coho.
This is the guy I fish with:

You may have some trouble booking someone this late in the year - all the good guides are booked before the season starts.
Here's what you can expect for each of the summer months:
July - start of fishing for salmon & halibut - monster halibut & average salmon
although I have heard that this year there are much larger Chinook coming in
many fish in the 30 to 40 lb range already
August - start of fishing in the Fraser river. There is an expected 4 week
opening for Sockeye starting Aug 1 - beautiful fish/easy to catch -
wet wading in shorts & sandals.
August is the best month for fishing for Chinook on VanIsle. Expect
fish over 30lbs - I catch atleast one over 30lbs every year.
Also, the Coho fishing is insane on the west coast of VanIsle. Most
the time you hook a Coho while dropping the downrigger to the Chinooks.
You can see dozens of them finning on the surface and can easily catch
them by bucktailing a spoon 20' behind the boat
