Hey Steve from pro-fish-n-sea
I went to your site to try and get info about a trip in Aug. But had trouble filling out your web reservation form. The date button did not work correctly.
when I clicked on the calender it sent me to and new reservation page.
I am interested in a combo trip on aug. 15th of this year. what are your rates and do you have an opening for two people? fishnutt90804@yahoo.com

It should also be noted that there isn't currently any concern over the stock's in AK because of the conservational efforts of folk's like Andy Mezirow. I've been curious (and maybe someone could shed some light on this for me) what types of restrictions, if any, commercial harvesters of Halibut are restricted to. Also, what is the general feeling about event's like the Homer Halibut Jackpot Derby? Event's such as those seem to advocate the taking of large, prime breeding female's. Any thought's?

Commercial fisherman cannot keep fish under 32 inches, no max size, in fact they are paid more for larger fish than smaller.... higher yield I believe. I personally try to talk clients into releasing fish over 80 pounds because they are 100 % females.... but... wonder why when jackpot derbies encourage killing them and there is NO way a commercial fisherman will ever let one live. Southeast AK is now in a 1 fish limit and there is a strong lobbying effort in place to instill this throughout the state... get vocal, fight it and tell your friends....

Alaska fishermen, You should beware I live in southern calif this place had great fishing in the 50- 60s. Now its crazy. I remember little fish shack selling smoked albacore all along the coast south of LA , they been gone since the early 70s. How about chartering a boat all day and never get a bite on a tuna trip. It happens more often than you think. So keep the limits in place and smack those who forgo the limits. You could end up with just a few fish like we have going on down here. Alaska is too nice a place to give up the fish. My buddy went to fish yellow tail out of San Diago last friday." he said that their were so many boat out their you could hop from boat to boat ".He went to the Corando Islands he was lucky his catch was one fish.John Hathaway
