RJ-If I understand correctly, you do not want to send the reels back to the states because of a cost shipping and time off the water issue? Any warranty issues will have to be shipped back to Avet, so just grease the things and be done with it. If you can take the reel apart to grease, you can take it apart to fix any other issues that may arise. You do not need the warranty. Grease away and be happy the w/the smooth drags. Then post the pic's of your grander so we call all cry while catching our 20# albacore, which still have not shown up. Just my 2 cents.
