I've had the S series 220's and 229's for about 4 years and fished the crap out of them and have not had a problem with them.

Only tune up I did was slap in some greased HT-100's I flush them good with fresh water every time I fish and pull the side plate at the end of the season for an inspection and cleaning and a good lubing of the bearings.

Never could understand why the S series has such a bum rap.
