I found a site that sells all kinds of cork pieces. See
Cork Rod Handles - Cork Grips - Cork Rings from Cork Specialties (I 'm not endorsing). Maybe a very talented artist could use these cork rings or something like it to recreate the handle. If I can't fix it then I'm gonna fish the hell out of it! Hate to lose a beautiful rod to my clumsiness!
