Piperca is exactly right...I also see this all the time in my line of work. I would run away as fast as I could if they are not willing to go to the bank with you while you deposit the cash funds. No checks, money orders etc. I would also be surprised if they dont ask you to deposit a check for more than the asking price and send them the remaining balance. It's an old scam. You wont lose your boat, but you will lose the money you send them when the check you deposited is found to be no good.

Be leary, use your head and put the gun away. They will seem nice as pie to get you to trust them. Piperca and I may be wrong about this, some folks do buy and ship boats....but, better safe than sorry.
