Well it was that time of year again for me to take my cousin Bob out to Havasu again for some striper fishin'.
His 51st and my 30th years of going out there.
We were suppose to head out on Wed 4/30, but when I got up on Tue 4/29 the day was just too nice so I called in too well for work.

I then called Bob and told him to let Black Meadow Landing know that we were heading out a day early.
This turned out to be the smart move. More on this later.
We got out there Tue evening, set up shop in our room, and settled in for the night getting ready for the day ahead of fishin'.
We got up at 5 AM and were on the water by 6 heading to our honey hole. We still haven't figured out why we head there so early since the fish never seem to start biting until 9:30. I guess it's just we're so happy to be out of town and on the water.
Anyways............. The fish started biting around 9:30 and by 12:00 we had 10 nice striper's on the boat and let go 4 cats. The best part was that there were NO dinks around, all quality fish going from 1 1/2 - 5 lbs.
This day belonged to Bob. He had 7 of the fish.
Bob with a couple of the tasty morsels.
And the days catch
Later that evening we went back out to see if we could get some more. I was able to scratch up one more when out of the north came the ole' wind and it started to blow us off of the lake. Fun boat ride back.
Well for the next 2 days, Thur & Fri, the wind continued to blow and kept us off the water.

We spent most of the time down at Blue Water Casino and Resort.
Saturday came and there was no wind

so we hit the water again and this time it was my turn.
We ended up with 6 more, 5 from me, and caught a bunch of big cats which was fun as hell.
Here's a sample of what we hit.
Does this cat make me look fat? She went 18lbs.
So we had 2 days out of 5 of fishin' with 16 striper's in the freezer and some more good times with ole' cousin Bob. Glad to see the old fart can still land fish.
Be Excellent !!!!
