Ok , I use the same kind of reel, I have a teramar rod "TMC-X76M, 7'6", 10-20lb line wt, medium action extra fast " I run 20# brad with a top shot of 15# or 12#, floro, about 3 to 4 feet, that work's for me.The brad's so if they run you into the kelp you wont get cut off. Ive got calico's to Yellowtail on that set up with no problem's. It's a great inshore set up and that's what I like to do, hope this help's you out.
