I just serviced my 320 gti and had a really tough time getting the left side plate bearing out. I ended up having to pull the shield and inner cage out with the bearing still in place and jerk the rest of that sucker out. I wonder if I can bore out that slot to get the bearing to go in and out easier, like you did for the bridge bearing?
