I owned a saltist 30 and 50 and didn't like either. I now use only toriums. The saltist seems to freespool better but the reel is a bit touchy. Torium 20 with 50# spectra backing and 100 yards of 30 or 40# mono should work nicely that's what's on my iron tossing reel.
