Poppers are a blast for tuna. Dodos, and Yellowtail eat them pretty good too. There are a couple very good brands out there. Yozuri, and River2Sea are a good place to start. You want to match the bait so take several sizes with you. Mackeral, and sardine patterns/colors work well, and the pink/white combo seems to work pretty good also. Another surface treat is the skip jig...works like a charm. Both methods seem to work best when the fish have pushed the bait up already, and are feeding hard but there have been times when I was able to get fish to go on the surface when soaking baits wasn't working. I have found this to be especially true with Blue Fin Tuna. They seem to like the sporadic movement, and splashing on days when they aren't really keying in on the bait, or yoyo iron. Top producing colors for me are blue/white, green/white, and pink/white for poppers, and green sardine 7x is my favorite for the skip jig although blue/white works almost as well. Sometimes when the bait is smaller you can even skip a megabait and get them to go. My favorite color of megabait is black/silver...especially for Albies, and Blue Fin Tuna. Hope this helps.
