Re: penn 320GT2 reels

Haven't tried the GT2 (Hadn't actually heard of 'em till now) but I have a 330GTi and a 320LD that I've used for rockfishing.

The 330GTi & 320LD levelwinds are great for rockfishing with Spectra. I use dacron backing and 300 yds of 50# Spectra on top. I've been very happy with both.

One mod that's a must is to replace the handle. The Accurate or ProGear 4/0 handle is a direct bolt on.

The levelwind mechanism itself is a maintenance item. Nooks & crannies, dontcha know. I just make sure I give it some extra attention with the freshwater washdown & give it a spritz of CorrosionX after every trip.

IMO ya just can't beat a levelwind for rockfishing with Spectra. Not really the tool for casting baits, tho.
