Should be - depends on where your pump is in relation to the tank - my 500 gph pump is about 2' away from the tank and about 1' below the tank and it can pump too much water for some batches of bait - I installed a ball valve at the tank to regulate it. I had some fairly lame bait this last Friday and I slightly slowed the water coming in so it didn't overpower the poor critters!
Make sure that your water inlet disperses the water in a circular motion - preferrably a slotted directional baffle so that more of the water column is exposed to the new water.
My last boat had a 54 gallon tank and the system worked perfect with a 700 gph pump - again, placement is critical to water quantity...
