I think it was a place called L&L Marine in Anaheim or something like that. I use to get all the anodized rub rail from them They also have the vinyl inserts in all sorts of different colors too. Not sure if they sell direct to the public. they use to only sell wholesale, but that was a long time ago.

Places like Rex Marine would also sell the nice type rubrail. Warning those kits from West Marine made by like Taco are kinda cheesy.
if you go with the aluminum stuff, it isnt that hard to do. Just take your time while you bend it arounf the boat. One more pointer, dont use wood screws, rivet the rubrail in place and use silicon.
