New guy, need advice.
First post here and I need some advice. I'm new to this Tuna fishing deal, I've been out once on a 6 pack out of Santa Cruz and was skunked. I'm more of a bass/trout/whatever freshwater kinda.
So I got invited to go on the Gallilean next week, I think it's a one day??? all I know is we leave at 8PM and get back sometime the next day/night. I have no idea what to bring or what to expect. I figure I will have to rent gear unless it's provided (not sure) since other than Bass gear all I have is a Penn209 and ugly stick 7' trolling rod. Should I bring that for anything? if so how should I rig it? What do you guys recommend to rent if I need to and where should I get it from? How should I handle the fish? Do I need to bleed em myself? What should I expect as far as food goes? Should I bring stuff? do I buy it from the Galley? What about beer? Can I bring an ice chest or anything to drink with me? If not can I get it there on the boat? What should I wear? Pumps or heels? (joke) Pretty much let me know what you would advise for a rookie to have a good time. I'm driving down from Sacramento for this trip and don't want to blow it by being stupid TIA I'll go ahead and use the search too. |
