Hello Bloodydeckers.
I've been lurking for some time and really enjoy the site. Wanted a decent first post, so here goes -
Got out Tuesday a.m. with the kid. Launched from O'Side and ran south to the hot zone. Had no idea that we would actually get a T, but was going to give it our best shot. If we did, it would be our first.
Got into the area and heard a couple of other boats were hooked up already. Put out a bait-o-matic and b/p rapala. Rapala gets hit within 10 minutes, doesn't stick. Put both back out and the rapala gets nailed and sticks this time. Pretty funny - I've had that rapala for 6-7 years and never even really used it. Spend $$ for a bait-o-matic and it goes untouched.
Now hooking it and getting it to the boat is one thing. I had thought this through as much as I could - what to do when it gets to the boat. Flying gaff - get a rope on the tail as best I could -
And after some time and "dispatching", in the boat -
And then home for slicing. Didn't weigh in at O'Side. Didn't matter, really, just happy to have one. Hope the pics work out.
