Upper Soda springs sounds good is that accessable by car or is it a big hike
By car if you've got camp gear and then there are some restrictions as far as driving in if you're not camping. They actually operate a shuttle, (mandatory at times) for those who are not camping. You drive all the way to the Mammoth Mountain Inn and over a pass down to the other side of the sierra crest. Very nice campgrounds along the San Joaquin River with plenty of trees.
