thanks, jerry. yes, the original drags were dry. check the photos of the stock drags and you'll see a red drag washer. that's the one that goes under the gear. it tore just as easily as the others.

and i'm sorry if there's a misunderstanding about this tearing the drags business. these drags will never "tear" while inside the reel. i was just amazed when i pulled them out. they really felt like paper. yeah, paper. go figure! i've never seen anything like it before.
