| Re: Release or Eat??
my rule of thumb is if i catch a fish i have never caught/tasted b4, i will keep it (if legal) out of curiousity. mark another notch on the bedpost. otherwise, i throw back unless a sculpin, rockfish, or calico, as I enjoy the taste usually. very fresh bsp are ok sometimes, as were parts of a recent spotfin catch. while beach camping in mexico, i lived on a diet of almost exclusively cochi (triggerfish), and caguamas (beer, that is). and if i accidentally kill one, i will either eat it or use it for bait. just tryin never to waste. my 2 cents.
