Re: What brand/type of downriggers do you have?

In my experience the best thing about Canon is the customer service. I have twice cracked the spool on the uni troll and they were replaced in just a few days with a phone call at no charge. The problem was that I had replaced the cable with 130 lb. spectra. Under load (like the time I had my head up my ass and trolled over a kelp stringer and hung up the 10lb ball) the thinner diameter spectra worked its way down the inner edge/seam of the spool hence the cracking. I have since put 200lb. mono on the bottom before connecting the spectra and that keeps the spectra from working it's way down to the bottom of the spool. A better way may be to go with 200 lb. spectra.....or keep the cable on, but I really like the way the thinner spectra fishes.
