Cold turkey over here also. It's been 1 year, and 9 months, 2 weeks, 3 days, 4 hours, 2 minutes, and 6 seconds, but who's counting.

I carried around a pack in my pocket for the first two weeks. I figured that I would pull one out and smoke it before I would go to jail for killing someone. I lucked out and it didn't happen, and I am smoke free today. That doesn't mean that I don't still crave one from time to time. I sure miss them when I'm up in the helm driving the boat late at night. I'm sure Saluki feels a lot safer that I'm not puffing away at night, heading for the tuna grounds, around all those gas cans while he's sleeping. Like Shelly said, it's a lot easer to not smoke, now that I don't drink anymore.
