I think most people have realized that the old standard dropper loop knot rates at only 70% when pulled on off-center and have gone to the surgeons loop. When tieing the surgeons loop I will go through eight times instead of five, which could also be called the rose knot. This is one of the knots I will be talking about in the upcoming hands on rigging get together(if we ever get our shit straight). Instead of a double san diego, I use a palomar to tie the hook on with. A good knot, when you have two pieces of mono comeing out of it. If this rig is going to break it will be at the surgeons knot.
You could go one step further and tie a bimini instead of the surgeons, that is tending towards overkill though, at least for yellowtail.
