Welcome Bruce, and thanks for setting this up Jason! Was just about to ask who else here was adept at the "other" long rod. I do some flyfishing from the surf for perch, halibut, etc., and I'm interested in getting more into bluewater stuff (got a firecracker yellow off a paddy last year on the fly, and really want a dodo this year). Also got some flyfishing in last summer in St. Croix, USVI, and caught some small bonefish, which really are the perfect flyrod fish. I also do some fly tying - mostly perch patterns but a few baitfish imitations and trout flies.
Hey Bruce, saw something in your MOW bio about Palmyra - my boss went last spring to do a tagging study on bonefish. The bonefishing they had was nothing short of phenomenal. There's some really interesting stuff going on there, biologically speaking, since the atoll is so pristine (underwater at least). I wanna go so bad!
Anyway, good to see the new forum, look forward to learning a lot and sharing a bit too!
