Sorry for the late report......Since we were on a limited time schedule I decided to fish the kelp in La Jolla....I never really fish inshore so wasn't sure what I was doing.....

Got to the kelp around 8am with no swell & not one other boat, Kayak or anyone else around...which was good since i never did this before so no witnesses....found a good spot, anchored about 10' from the edge of the kelp and flylined some deans..

Instant hook up on the smaller cali's....after a while the 4-7lbers started to play....it went WFO from 8am -11:30.....we must have caught at least 60 -80 fish...most C&R....and probably another 30-40 hook up's that broke off in the kelp....

We did get one screammer that was probably a WSB or Yellowtail, but broke off in the kelp & never saw color.

BTW, no dogs till we were getting ready to leave.

Now's the time to hit LJ......if I could catch fish there, anyone should be able to.....
