We had quite a few large boats that fished the tourney. I think one was a 42 riviera if I remember correctly.

If you have any doubts then always shoot the question at the organizers to possibly help clarify any questions.
I say this because the BD tourney could be fished with 1 angler or 6 anglers. If you read the rules it clearly states that the entry is $300 for up to 3 anglers (or one or two) and goes up an additional $100 per angler for up to a maximum of 6 per boat.
The 8pm deadline seems pretty standard and fair to me and most certainly does not seem to favor a small boater. What it does is keeps the playing field somewhat even for both small and large boats.
I have no affiliation with the BD tourney but just pointing out what I see in the rules.
The parking situation actually seems really well set up as well, as you have a very large FREE lot in which you can park your vehicles, with many parking the whole rig (truck & boat) there as well.

There was plenty of time BEFORE the tourney to ask questions.
There are plenty of ways to misunderstand what is written. The original poster wasn't bitching IMO he was just voicing what he saw as possible improvements. No big deal.

That is always a weighing factor in the back of any good teams head........ do you take the gamble to possibly run further to more promising pastures, which in turn gives you less time to fish and creates the stress of knowing you have to shut it all down and haul ass in to make the time.............. or do you play it safe and work some areas closer to home hoping for the big payoff???
Its all gambles bro and part of the true fun & stress of tournament fishing for $$$.
I believe the 8:00pm deadline makes it very very fair for small boats and large alike, and by extending the weigh-in by an hour or more would then trully be giving the big boats a bit of an advantage.

Just curious...since i had no fish to weigh in, it wasn't an issue this time, ...
but since i broke down, and was towed back to SI, what if i had fish, what would have been the ruling if i was towed to the weigh in location at the docks.
Might want to consider this for your next tourney.
FYI..Since there was no official written rule for this scenario, If this had came up in my situation, I would have simply asked via the VHF for a ruling, and lived by the ruling, but you never know what others may do when money is involved.

I think late is late, why doesn't matter.
Someone could say they broke down for extra fishing time......

If you can get towed up to the dock before the end of weigh in then you're fine. Otherwise I would have to say sorry but we have to DQ you......

I do know many tournaments vary on this, with some allowing for assistance in getting a fish or multiple fish to the weigh-in, and then some I believe dont. So that is a good question and something that should be addressed in the rules.

My suggestion would be this. Tourny control uses there radio to RECIEVE and not TRANSMIT.
