Muerte:
2 lost Irons flying through the air
1 broken rod
1 bad battery
1 failed bait pump
4 massive birds nests
1 lost mustad hook, still stuck in the grill of a nice yellow.
All of the fun above happened while the boat was being swarmed by pudling yellows.
2 nice grade yellows 21.2 and 19 something
All this fun happened at the bull ring.
Quote of the day:
" fuck, I just broke my rod, I cant believe I just broke my fucking rod" He is pretty pissed until he looks back up and calms down" oh shit, never mind, thats your rod, sorry dude"

Fun day on the water for sure. We had prefished san clemente on friday and with the conditions there being less than ideal, although we did boat 2 yellows, we decieded to fish the coronados. At the islands we boated 3 fish, a 17.5, 14.5, and a 12.

Team Yellow Ledbetter -
S. Island, middle grounds and the flats for 2 log cuda and one 16.6 Yellowtail. All fish caught in the flats.
Baited a 3.5 foot mako for the hell of it at 6:30 just south of S. Island. Got 2 jumps while hooked and 3 more after he broke off. That was a fun start to the day. Damn shutter lag on the digital kept me from a good picture.
Had a pelican fly into our troll line for our biggest strike. Quiet funny seeing Sherm jump out of the cabin thinking we were finally on some fish.
Fun stuff.

Team Booyaa did the same thing.
We knew there were winning fish at Catalina but also knew it was a morning bite & would be a madhouse. Saw a couple fish hung, the last one was right next to us but at 5:50, probably went 35. Was brutal sitting on our dicks waiting for the 6:AM lines in.
Gave it until 7:30 then made some macks & ran to Clemente were we found the motherload of breezers. The first batch that came up on us were the biggest we saw but went o for 1. 40 lb. Seagar FC failed, not the first time but will be the last. The fish were spooky but when you got on 'em it was WFO, we brought back 12 & let as many go but the biggest only went 16 & change.
Outstanding day of fishing got most of mine on the surface iron & 7" Hammers ripped just under the surface, good fun.
