Team 0-2. Started the day with a couple calico at the South Island kelp. Decided to head out to patties. Saw a swordfish around the 371 we tried to get to play with us. It even swam up to our bait, and looked at it before lazily swimming away. Saw a shitload of dolphin. Had a seagull fight a yellow over our bait at one very small patty and scare the fish away with only scrape marks on the sardine. Hooked a good yeller that broke off back at the North end of the South Island. Got a barracuda. I slipped on the slimy deck where it was before we chucked it back into the water.
We got whooped, and I'm man enough to admit that it wasn't our day. Half our bait rolled and what was left was pretty beat up.
Our count: a case of beer, sunburns, and a few released fish we weren't targetting.
Site of the day: I shit you not, we saw a mola mola jump out of the water completely. It looked like a headless dorado with little flappin' fins. I doubt I'll ever see that again in my lifetime.

Team lipripper
Left at 2 am went to bait receivers (san diego bay) henry and joey hooked us up on the best sardines and macks I have had in a while . our game plan was to start at the 425 which we did and it was dead , we made a line to the hidden bank we started to find small bull kelp with nothing on them , continued up the line , running about 35 knots ,nice weather , kat and pete spot a hairy bush about 2 miles shy of the hidden bank water was 60.2. We approach it and there is alot of fish boiling all around it , Ianna is on first , then kat and pete , first fish a bonie , Iannas pissed , lots of yellows following then it was full speed, limits by 8:45 am all about 15 ? kept running no more patties went in to islands tried hard dumped a good one at south, went in nice day fishing a tournament with my daughter Ianna, my chick Kat, and my best freind Pete. nothing better than fishing with your family , and all i did was gaff and drive , thanks to the fellows that put this on.
final count 20 yellows , 30 pack of beer , some great burritos my mom made us , 155 miles and 46 gallons of fuel

Got to the south kelp @ 5:30am. Made some mackeral, and slow trolled the north end of the kelp, got 2 and lost a big one in the kelp. Left and went east. We fished the birds, and got 2 more. Headed back to south kelp got 1 more and lost another nice fish in the kelp.We went 5 for 7. The fish were 14lbs to 18.5lbs. Didn't win anything, but had a great day on the water.

Team Ragin' Cajun
The Coronados for nada!
My brother and I launched at MCRD just after 5, got bait.....a bonus scoop...thanks boys!
Great run over and my new starter worked like a charm!
Too bad the old leak overcame the bilge pump on the run in! Water up to the float switch and we got it on the trailer in time to watch it drain for 20+ minutes.
Back to Sea Witch tomorrow.
Great day before Father's day with my brother, something we don't do enough.
The radio chatter was f-ing priceless.....my favorite....."if you get hookers, can you make sure at least one of them is a woman this time"......
