I'm going to have to check out the 338 that Brad uses. Dude can fish and if he says so, I'll take a look at the thing. Brad, what is the gear ratio on the 338? The 6.1:1 on the SL50SH gets interesting on fish around 25-30#.

No wonder you look like such a pussy when catching fish on iron.
My SL X50HV is 4.9:2:1 and is probably up there with the newell in casting distance. It also fits a trini 30 handle and has wet drags.
Besides my mom could out cast you.
Like you Brad has touched my rod. He even said it was smooth and had good casting...
All reels loosen up if they are FISHED a lot. Best reels are used ones IMO.
