Mine did something like that. It was like it was getting stuck half in gear half in free spool. then i dropped it on the rocks and broke the side plate. I sent it in to get the plate fixed and they replaced the thumb swithch bearings and drag. It is 100% now. They just charged me $7 for shipping. if it keeps giving you problems and you can do with out for a week or two send it in.
