Accommodations
The boat is unsinkable and practical yet has the room inside of most express cruisers of 33 to 35 feet. There is plenty of room below to sleep 4, with the luxury also of an enclosed head with shower, a nice galley and salon. The main salon has a U shaped settee around a dining table that seats four easily. It is also a convertible berth that sleeps two. There is a private offset double berth forward. The joiner work below in this yacht looks more express cruiser than pure fishing machine. The stowage space is excellent for all of your gear, and the interior is nicely lit and ventilated by multiple hatches and opening ports.
Galley
She boasts a real galley with an electric stove, as well as a Norcold12V/110V refrigerator. There is a sink with hot and cold pressure water. Believe it or not there is also nice storage and counter space.
Electronics/Navigation
You can fish offshore with a warm fuzzy feeling since with this vessel you can operate and navigate in any condition. Along with the basics like running lights, anchor light, and full engine instrumentation, including oil pressure alarm, temperature alarm this fine craft has the following electronic gear: Helm mounted compass
VHF
Furuno 16 MIle radar
Apelco 10 mile Radar
GPS
Plotter
Fish finder
Depth sounder
Speed log
Stereo
Electrical
Twin electrical systems with redundancy to keep the music playing, the engines purring and the fish biting are a feature of this vessel. She has 110 volt and 12 volt systems. Each are circuit breaker protected. 110 Volt power is provided at shore with a 50 foot shroepower cord. When resting, your batteries are being automatically charged for the next voyage and comfortable use of all electrics while dockside. There are twin battery banks with an isolater/Combiner switch. On the water, each engine has an alternator to keep all of your batteries topped off.
Hull & Deck
Topside, you find two levels, with the helm slightly above the cockpit. This makes for easy access engines which are accessed through the deck sole, and better visibilty for the helmsman. The cockpit is huge It features full bolsters on all gunnels as well as a nice swim step and a transom door for easy access. There are both captains and crew seating for four and the seating is laid out to keep everyone in the action while giving the skipper great 360 degree visability.
AS warranted, the famous Whaler construction makes this vessel absolutely unsinkable. Under the gunwales are rod storage compartments. There are access panels to stuffing boxes and rudders which are opened with a spin of your fingers. The walkaround and foredeck is made quite usable. As you will find on Whalers there is a substantial bow pulpit. The foredeck mounted windlass is just forward of the chain locker where you will find adequate chain and rode. The anchor rests on a conveneient bow roller under the pulpit.
Fishing
Now comes the fun part. This fishing boat can go when the others stay. She has long legs, speed, a great ride and the confidence you get with every Whaler. Her fishing gear includes: A 65 gallon cockpit live well
Bolstered gunnels all around
Multiple rocket launchers
Rod holders under the gunnels
Fishfinder
Tackle station
Outriggers
Transom door
Hard top with rod holders
Interior overead rod holders
GPS
Additional
This is the only twin diesel 31 Whaler on the West coast. Usually California boats ask for and get a premium price over their hurricane battered sisters. The reverse is true here price wise and I cannot remember any hurricanes in San Diego, where the yacht has spent her entire life. Great Boat, Great Price. 619-787-0640
